The collection comprises of papers written on occasion of the conference Dramaturgical Tendencies through the Focus of Varna Summer International Theatre Festival which in 2017 marked the 25th anniversary of the festival. Its theme reflects on the dramaturgical tendencies in contemporary theatre presented in the festival’s programmes, and the writings of authors coming from the field of theatre theory, history and criticism prove to what extent the concept of “dramaturgy” has expanded its boundaries.
