“Metamorphosis” is a compelling visual-plastic theatre performance inspired by the famous novel of the same name by Franz Kafka. It depicts one of the strangest and emblematic transformations in the whole world literature – one morning the travelling salesman, Gregor Samsa, finds himself transformed into a monstrous insect-like creature. The theatre director Claudio Angelini concentrates the idea of metamorphosis exclusively on the performer`s body that interests him as an object of a constant transformation: “We, as human beings, are bodies in an ongoing flux of changes, in a permanent process of composing and disintegrating, a constant flow of energy…” In “Metamorphosis” with extraordinary physical precision and artisticity the performer Alessandro Bedosti represents the process of transformation of one body into another, of the human into inhuman. “…a performance of rare elegance, a jewel” writes the Italian theatre critic Alessandro Paesano.
