NEW FORMS ARE NEEDED!
Exactly a century after Chekhov’s line, on the verge of another century, theatre faces the same problem. The courage of Bulgarian theatre is put to test today. It has the strength to bring to life the most productive out of its resources, it has the strength to offer new aesthetic, moral, organizational resolutions. A renewal means to be found dynamic possibilities for a stage life of the contemporary theatre language… Invention, searching, desire for a reasonable change – this is the motto of the day… I believe that new forms in art are followed by new forms in life. We need to open our eyes, our senses and our mind and answer the challenges at the end of a century, on the verge of another millennium.
