Serge buys a painting for an extremely large sum of money. The painting constitutes a large white canvass painted in white with “fine white diagonal lines”. The different perceptions about the painting of his friends Marc and Yvan all of a sudden put a strain on their long-term relationship. Will Serge, Marc and Yvan keep their 15-year friendship or will a single painting put an end to it? “Art” is a provocative story about art, friendship and our ability to stay true to ourselves, but also to our friends when we see the world in a different way.

The “Art” comedy (1994) brings worldwide fame to the French playwright Yasmina Reza.  Winner of some of the most prestigious theatre awards, such as Molière Award in France, Olivier Award in London, Tony Award and New York Drama Critics’ Circle Best Play Award in the USA, the play has been played numerous times in a number of countries, including Bulgaria. The young actor and director Vladislav Stoimenov, who became widely popular with his role in the film “Shakespeare Like a Street Dog”, created a fresh and dynamic performance based on this play, adding a new modern vibe to the play in the context of today’s world filled with conflicts.
