Cadaver is a performance improvisation built on biological body/software interaction. Dancer’s body is stuck with electrodes conveying muscle tension in the form of electrical impulse to a custom-made computer software programme converting the received data into a manipulated sound. The attention is focused on the instant when behind the impulses of the flesh the shadow of an irreversible process appears: the forcing of bodily impulses on the will of reason. The flesh starts to create. An exciting artistic collaboration between the digital artist Martin Penev and the dancer and choreographer Stanislav Genadiev. “Cadaver” is part of the “tri3avisim” project, a joint initiative of the Contemporary Performing Arts Guild at the Union of Bulgarian Actors with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and Etud Foundation.
