Stayko Murdjev belongs to the new wave of theatre directors and has won the acknowledgement both from audiences and professionals. “Cock” is his latest staging based on the Oliver Award winning play by British author Mike Bartlett. It takes a playful, candid look at one man’s sexuality and quest for own identity. When John takes a break from his relationship with his boyfriend, he accidentally falls in love with a woman. Torn between the two, filled with conflicting emotions, he doesn’t know which way to turn. Murdjev stages the story as an intelligent comedy which playfully and in a refined way tackles the paradoxical affairs of the heart and emotions that are not that often openly talked about.
