Nina Raine is a successful contemporary British playwright. Her play “Consent” premiered at the National Theatre in London in 2017 and earned her very good praise. The Telegraph gave it four stars and labeled it “a tense, entertaining modern-day tragic-comedy worth seeing.” The play recreates the world of some intelligent young people, part of the London elite, at the top of social pyramid. And yet, they are quite confused, as if something very important is missing in their best-of-all-possible worlds – the purpose and the closeness to the Other… What is the road to them? A dynamic and committing performance by Sofia Theatre.
“The key word in the play is compassion. Are we able to feel it? Do we believe that the pain of others must also be ours? Are we able to overcome our selfishness and self-sufficiency and build a fairer human community? Are our minds full of walls or bridges?” Nedyalko Delchev
