On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the New Bulgarian University last year, the University Theatre launched an ambitious programme aiming to revive some of its best performances. They have often pointed towards new territories on Bulgarian stage such as anthropological and physical theatre. Customs is a legendary performance (1989/90 season) based on texts by the sociologist Ivan Hadzhiyski. The show also features a map of festivals around the world where the performances have been played, interviews with actors from different generations having taken part in it, documentary recording made at Infant Festival (Novi Sad, 1997) where Customs was given an award for polyphony in theatrical form.
