The performance “Gilgamesh” was inspired by the homonymous Shumerian-Akkadian epos that is regarded as the most ancient surviving saga in human history. The epos expounds the existential theme of achieving immortality and exempting life from predestination. “Gilgamesh” deals with eternal themes – love and friendship, duty and death, offering unexpected theatrical language between a fairy tale and a philosophical parable. It teams up students with lecturers in the Theatre Department at New Bulgarian University.
