The play Ladies in Lavander is an award-winning stage adaptation of the hit British film of the same name, starring Judi Dench and Maggie Smith. It tells the story of sisters Ursula and Janet, who live in a close-knit fishing village in picturesque Cornwall in 1936. Their peaceful daily life is disrupted by the appearance of a handsome and talented young Polish violinist, washed ashore by the sea waves. The Widdington sisters take in the mysterious man and care for him, but his presence disturbs the tranquility of their home and the community in which they live.
Director Stoyan Radev Ge. K., known for his affinity for romantic stories, brings this emotional tale of unfulfilled dreams and unspoken love to the Bulgarian stage for the first time, in the tradition of deeply moving, actor-driven theatre.
