“Pleasantlyscary” is perhaps the most successful and critically acclaimed new Bulgarian drama of the passing decade and recently it celebrated its 150th performance. Playwright Yana Borissova has a distinct talent for expressing and portraying contemporary sensibilities through intriguing characters and witty dialogues. The performance was selected for the former contemporary European drama festival New Plays from Europe in Wiesbaden, Germany. It is staged by the internationally renowned Bulgarian director Galin Stoev who works mainly in France and Belgium.
