How do we make sense of the complexity of theatre landscape that is revealed around us? Is it sufficient to keep on repeating Hans-Thies Lehmann’s thesis formulated 20 years ago that the theatre process moves from dramatic to post-dramatic theatre forms? Can we differentiate into the mosaic of different theatre ideas and practices some repeating thematic fields, strategies of (re)presentation, means of expression on stage? The round table aims to debate the processes and phenomena in contemporary theatre in a quest for understanding of its topical status as a sum of artistic and sociocultural practices.
