Authors of the play are the Nobel Prize winner Dario Fo and his wife Franca Rame. “The Open Couple” tells the comic story of two spouses who have been married from long time ago. In attempt to let loose the chains of marital life, the husband offers to the wife “the open couple” model. Thus everyone is free to have a parallel love affair in the full knowledge and permission of the other. Is it possible for love to survive when partners keep enlarging the distance between themselves? The director takes a skeptic, but very amusing look at modern notions about the nature of living a family life.
