Zoom In is a performance installation where the body’s means of expression are reduced to the minimum. It focuses on the “most anonymous” part, human back and its potential to create bizarre shapes. The vertebral column as supporting medial structure, its potential to perform/effect flexion, extension, contraction and rotation. Only one bodily part, the back, finds specific choreographic language. It creates a journey that explores its own deformities and is turned into an unusual visual experience. Violeta Vitanova is a choreographer and performer of Bulgaria’s newest generation of contemporary dance. She has participated in numerous productions, including international ones. Venelin Shurelov is a scenographer. In his interdisciplinary works he explores borderline states of human body focusing on its marginalization.
