The State Puppet Theatre in Varna was found in 1952. Until today it has realized over 290 productions, attended by thousands of viewers in Bulgaria and abroad. The theatre has its own building in the centre of the city and it has also its own open-air summer stage. The auditorium holds 130 seats.
In 1985 in the theatre the Puppet Museum is being opened. It is one of a kind in the Balkans and among the very few in Europe. Its exposition holds nearly 130 theatre puppets and elements of set designs from acclaimed productions from the theatre’s history between 1952 – 2002.
The auditorium and the Puppet Museum can be visited by disabled people.
