People, Places and Things by Duncan Macmillan is one of the most recognizable titles in contemporary British drama, receiving strong international acclaim following its premiere at the National Theatre in London. With its bold theatrical form and uncompromising perspective on addiction, the play has established itself as an important text for our time. The production by Drama Theatre Sava Ognianov – Ruse marks its first staging in Bulgaria.

At the center of the story is Emma — a young actress whose life falls apart under the pressure of addiction, self-delusion, and her inability to maintain a connection with herself and the world. Her admission to a rehabilitation clinic marks the beginning of a painful process of self-exposure, in which memories, fears, guilt, and the desire for salvation constantly collide. In the role of Emma, Eva Danailova creates a character of vivid inner dynamism, where vulnerability, irony, resistance, and breakdown coexist — transforming a personal drama into a theatrical experience with a broader human resonance.
