World-renowned theatre and film visionary Kirill Serebrennikov arrives in Bulgaria for a special encounter with Bulgarian audiences under the title Framing Freedom. The culmination of his visit will be an exclusive conversation and public discussion on the Main Stage of the Ivan Vazov National Theatre, moderated by director Yavor Gardev, who will also take part as Serebrennikov’s interlocutor.

The event offers an uncompromising look at the boundaries of creativity, the price of artistic rebellion, and the transformations of freedom in the contemporary world. Serebrennikov, whose art has become a symbol of aesthetic and political independence on the European and world stage, will meet closely with Bulgaria’s professional community, young artists, and admirers of contemporary art.

The project is realised in partnership with the organisation 22:22, with the support of Sofia Municipality and the Union of Bulgarian Artists, and is hosted by the Ivan Vazov National Theatre and the Odeon Film Archive Cinema.

The event will be moderated by Yavor Gardev.
