FUSION is the latest project by violinist Vasko Vassilev and Spanish guitarist Carlos Yave, built around specially developed arrangements for violin and guitar. The programme brings together classical pieces, flamenco, tango, and film music in a concert encounter that moves beyond genre boundaries and seeks a shared space between different musical worlds.
Vasko Vassilev is among the most distinguished Bulgarian musicians with an international career. At a young age, he already held exceptionally prestigious positions in European musical life, and his artistic path has taken him to the world’s stages both as a soloist and as a conductor. He has performed in 40 countries. He teaches in London and Valencia. He has performed with world-famous artists such as Michael Jackson, Madonna, Sting, Plácido Domingo, and others. Over the years, he has established a distinctive style in which classical virtuosity naturally blends with a more contemporary sound.
Carlos Yave is a flamenco guitarist from Algeciras, Spain — the hometown of Paco de Lucía, whose work had a strong influence on his musical development. His education and artistic path have passed through prestigious flamenco schools, jazz seminars, and international tours, while his collaborations with various performers have shaped a rich and recognizable musical signature.
*The event is part of the Intermezzo programme, a joint initiative with the International Music Festival Varna Summer.
