Kombina Dance Co is founded in 1995 by Amir Kolben – former soloist of the Israeli Ballet and other companies and teacher of classical ballet and contemporary dance at the Academy of Music and Dance in Jerusalem. The company has gained international recognition with its style, that integrates contemporary dance and physical theatre and other art forms. The company runs also a dance school.

Noose sheds light on the desire to escape. It merges Kolben’s reaction to the political situation in Israel as well as to a personal crisis he went to and explores the possible escape routes. The stops in the escape route are the loss of mental control, yearning for a nostalgic past, or a fantasy world where you can escape form yourself from yourself with hopes of being like someone e;se, like your idols, on the ultimate escape machine: TV.
