Following the powerful stage interpretations of literary texts in their previous productions, director Diana Dobreva and playwright Alexander Sekulov present The Airship In Love — a poetic theatrical project inspired by the lives and works of several prominent figures of Bulgarian poetry.
The performance brings to the stage the voices of poets Ivan Metodiev, Dobromir Tonev, Miryana Basheva, and Grisha Trifonov, transforming their poems, words, and destinies into a multi-layered theatrical piece. Between personal biography and collective memory a story about the fragility of the artist unfolds, and about that inner freedom which poetry can preserve even in the most difficult times. Within Diana Dobreva’s distinctive stage world, language, music, movement, and visual imagery intertwine into a powerful theatrical fabric, where poetry becomes action and theatre becomes a space for resistance, memory, and spiritual elevation.
The Airship In Love is the most nominated production for the IKAR 2026 Theatre Awards, establishing itself as one of the most significant theatrical events of the season.
