It is late October and a town is paralized by the threat of an unseen sniper assasin. People are glued to the special edition of the six o’clock news – it is an hour of sudden revelations and revenge. Anyone could be the murderer. And the victim. These are stories of how, according to the author, the 90s took place in Bulgaria. As the writer puts it: “We entered the new millenium with a micro-apocalypse in advance.” A new play by one of the best internationally acclaimed contemporary authors Georgi Gospodinov, in which one can discover an original self-ironising dramatic form that reflects our contemporary reality.
