Elena Panayotova has graduated Directing at the Theatre Department at New Bulgarian University and since thеn she has participated as actor, director and researcher in many international theatre festivals, symposiums and workshops. She gained two times a scholarship for specializing Theatre Anthropology at Odin Theatre – Holstebro, Denmark. She has been working as a freelance director and her performances have been shown at national and European festivals. For her interpretation of Lorca’s masterpiece she invites a flamenco dance consultant and brings together seven of the best Bulgarian actresses, working in the field of physical theatre. For her portrayal of the maid Ponsia, Assya Ivanova won the UBA’s 2005 award for best actress in a supporting role.
