The Thread is a large-scale outdoor visual performance that creates a poetic and powerful stage world beyond words. At its core lies the image of the “red thread” — that invisible yet enduring bond which holds together human life, will, and the inner strength of the individual.
The performance traces the human journey through the entanglements and knots of existence — through those invisible dependencies that both shape and hinder us. In this process of accumulation, loss, and rediscovery, the individual is confronted with an essential choice: to remain enclosed within the limits of the familiar, or to take the risk of change, awareness, and inner transformation.
Created by Zhar Theatre — a company with a distinct and recognisable place in Bulgarian theatre — the performance bears the characteristic features of their stage aesthetics. Founded in 1994 by Elena Pap and Plamen Radev, Zhar Theatre has consistently developed open-air theatre, pantomime, and the so-called “fire drama” — a specific genre synthesis of mime art, visual theatre, and fiery expression. Their productions often interweave masks, puppets, fire imagery, stilt characters, carnival techniques, and live music.
The performance is intended for all audiences.
