Triptych by Ballet Arabesque is a performance that brings together, in a single evening, three independent choreographic works by Angelina Gavrilova, Arshak Ghalumyan, and Filip Milanov. Taken as a whole, the performance outlines an encounter between different artistic voices and sensibilities, united by a shared effort to reflect on the contemporary human condition through the language of dance.
The first part, INFINITY by Angelina Gavrilova, explores the endless pursuit of stillness and inner balance. MARE CRISIUM by Arshak Ghalumyan turns attention to feminine strength, sensuality, and the mystical element of the lunar. In PART OF…, Filip Milanov raises the question of identity and belonging — of the human being as part of others, of the community, of the world. Together, the three works construct both a contrasting and cohesive image of contemporary sensibility, in which the body becomes a carrier of tension, memory, and inner movement.
Among the most significant productions in recent seasons of Ballet Arabesque, Triptych is described by the company as its most awarded performance. The production has received the Sofia Municipality Award for outstanding achievements in the field of culture, the Crystal Lyre award from the Union of Bulgarian Musicians and Dancers and Cantus Firmus, while Filip Milanov also received the Impulse Award for original choreography for PART OF…. The success of the performance establishes Triptych as a vivid example of the vitality of Bulgarian contemporary dance and of Ballet Arabesque’s ability to be both a guardian of tradition and a space for new artistic exploration.
